Abstract
The Harassment Weapons System (HWS) program, and the Vampire sensor technology support program are evolving a mini drone strike capability which will be effective against a wide variety of targets. The key features which make an autonomous expendable mini drone weapons system extremely attractive in a total force context are (1) very high initial surge sortie rates, (2) survivability, (3) flexibility, (4) selectivity, (5) counter-measures resistance, and (6) low cost/target kill. The paper provides an overview on a system which is unique in that it can autonomously search, detect, classify and commit to an attack without a man in the loop.
