Abstract
Halide perovskites are an excellent platform for the realization of dielectric metasurfaces thanks to their high refractive index, large area solution processability, and compositional tunability of bandgap, luminescence and transport parameters [1]. Following the first demonstration of an all-dielectric perovskite metamaterial [2], there have been several demonstrations of passive [3] and light-emitting [4,5] metasurfaces with complex functionalities. In addition, halide perovskites offer opportunities for the realization of optoelectronic devices, including photovoltaic cells, photodetectors, light-emitting diodes and transistors, opening the way for direct integration of functional metasurfaces into electrically driven metadevices. Here we will present the recent realization of perovskite light-emitting metatransistors with unprecedented control of electroluminescence parameters at the subwavelength regime: spectrum, polarization, luminosity, wavefront and directionality. We will also show that exciton-polariton electroluminescence is achievable in this platform, enabling the development of electrically driven polariton metadevices operating in the strong coupling regime.
